Job summary

BV Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for an Accounts Semi Senior/Accounts Assistant/Trainee Accountant in Central London (West End). You will manage a portfolio of clients with two years’ experience, potentially studying ACA/ACCA, and work with Xero in a niche firm offering training and study support.

The role includes statutory accounts, tax and VAT work, bank reconciliations, and bookkeeping, with a flexible hybrid model and a varied, interesting client base in film, media, and related sectors.

Job description

Are you an Accounts Semi Senior, Accounts Assistant or Trainee Accountant who is ideally AAT qualified and or started the ACA or ACCA qualification and has at least two years experience in a good quality accountancy firm, looking to upgrade to a niche and friendly accountancy firm based in Central London (West End location) which works with a variety of London based clients but has a bias towards Film, TV, Creative and Media based clients? Are you keen to work in a firm which will offer you high levels of responsibility, a good work life balance, work with an interesting client base and be trained so you can improve your overall accountancy skills? Are you also looking for study support for the ACA or ACCA exams? Based in a small team and managing your own portfolio of clients, your role will be varied and include the preparation of statutory accounts, drafting corporation tax returns, VAT returns, bookkeeping assignments (bank reconciliations, journal entries, sales and purchase ledger, making payments etc) and being trained on other areas of accountancy where necessary. You will also have the opportunity to carry out some audit work if desired. You will gain exposure to a wide range of clients from interesting sectors such as Film & TV, Advertising, Media, Entertainment and Sport as well as property, retail and medical sectors. You will use Xero in almost all of your duties. You will work in a growing and supportive team and be provided with many opportunities to learn new skills and progress in a short space of time.

To be considered for this newly created role due to growth (September 2026) you will likely be an Accounts Semi Senior, Accounts Assistant or Trainee Accountant with at least two years experience and either be fully AAT qualified and looking to start the ACA or ACCA qualifications, or have already started the ACA or ACCA. Full training for either / both qualifications will be provided. You must have experience of preparing statutory accounts, tax returns, VAT returns and bookkeeping, and you must have experience using Xero. You must also be looking to work in a niche practice in a variety role, high levels of responsibility and an interesting London based client portfolio.
