The Accounts Receivable function is responsible for providing a first-class service to the entire UK business. The team focuses on reducing debt through credit control activities and improving overall working capital.

We are seeking an individual eager to make an impact. The Accounts Receivable Team Leader will report to the Head of the department, focusing on improving debt collection and ensuring timely billing. You will manage the UK group’s debtor book, ensuring aged debt is managed effectively and DSO targets are achieved.

You will work closely with operational and finance teams and directly with global clients to collect debt and handle billing. The role involves managing the day-to-day operations of the SIUK Accounts Receivable team, conducting regular 121s, debt reviews, and team meetings.

The Team Leader will mentor and support the team, sharing experience to resolve queries and improve efficiencies. You will be responsible for the team’s overall performance, escalating issues when necessary to the Head of AR.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Manage a team of Credit Controllers & Assistants
  2. Conduct regular 121s and debt reviews
  3. Track cash collections and measure team performance
  4. Follow procedures and processes for accounts receivable activities
  5. Ensure timely billing transactions, including invoicing, refunds, credits, and write-offs
  6. Support month-end activities and reporting in line with financial calendar
  7. Maintain strong relationships with clients and operational teams for credit control and billing
  8. Support debt reduction initiatives, focusing on aged debt and improving cash flow
  9. Manage workload to meet billing and collection targets, reducing DSO

Qualifications and skills:

  • At least 5 GCSEs/GCEs including Maths
  • Experience with Darwin system, billing, and credit control
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word; SAP knowledge is a plus
  • Target-driven, self-motivated, assertive, team-oriented
  • Excellent communication skills
