The Accounts Receivable Assistant will play a key role in supporting DP World's financial operations, ensuring accurate billing, customer engagement, and compliance across invoicing processes. This is a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and the successful candidate will be a proactive, detail-oriented contributor with strong communication and organisational skills.

Location and Contract

Essex OR Southampton, with occasional travel to the opposing site. Contract: Permanent

Responsibilities
  1. Prepare, check, and send invoices and credit notes to customers daily and at month-end.
  2. Ensure all billable items are captured on port sales invoices to shipping lines, rail companies, and hauliers.
  3. Maintain accurate invoicing for rental and service charges to tenants.
  4. Set up new customers in relevant systems and perform credit checks using web-based tools.
  5. Collaborate with Operations and Commercial teams to resolve invoice queries.
  6. Maintain audit-ready records including vessel logs and credit note tracking spreadsheets.
  7. Support the Accounts Receivable Manager during periods of absence.
  8. Assist the wider finance team during annual leave or sickness cover.
  9. Ensure compliance with DP World's Fatal Risk Standards and Health & Safety policies.
Qualifications and Experience
  • GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C or above) - Required.
  • AAT qualified or part-qualified - Desirable or willingness to study.
  • Understanding of accounts procedures and billing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience in customer service and working flexibly to meet business needs.
