Role: Accounts Receivable Assistant
Location: Nottingham
Salary: £27-29k

The Accounts Receivable Assistant will undertake a range of finance and operational tasks, supporting the wider Finance Team, the Management Accountant and the Financial Controller.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Chase fees due and keep tight control on outstanding balances.
  2. Manage and maintain aged debt balances.
  3. Organise and control regular streams of cash, cheque and card income for iFinance posting and for banking.
  4. Assist in the administration of music income and refunds, working closely with the Music Administrator.
  5. Assist with all aspects of the sales ledger requirements across the 3 entities which includes raising invoices, posting invoices, allocation of receipts, and maintenance of credit control.
  6. Assist with the control of petty cash income and expenses.
  7. Assist with the application of discounts to invoices (e.g., Scholarships, Bursaries, and staff discounts).
  8. Assist with the ordering of goods, services, and supplies.
  9. Assist with the management and support for Wisepay income.
  10. Prepare monthly aged debt reporting and closely manage potential bad debt.
  11. Communicate with leadership regarding the escalation of bad debt and with external debt collection agencies.
  12. Undertake various other finance tasks found in a small finance office, including staff cover for other areas in the team.
  13. Undertake other tasks reasonably requested by management, including, if necessary, outside the finance and operations department.

  1. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage various tasks and projects simultaneously.
  2. Self-motivated.
  3. Good customer service and communication skills, with the ability to work with key stakeholders.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication.
  5. Strong attention to detail and able to interpret a variety of documents, guidance, and legislation.
  6. Calm under pressure.
  7. Discretion and confidentiality.
  8. Able to prioritise own work to meet the team's requirements.
  9. Personable and able to communicate with junior staff and senior management alike.
  10. Highly analytical.
  11. Willing to learn and undertake training in order to develop the role.
