Morgan McKinley, Northern Home Counties is proud to be working with an exciting client, looking for a Accounts Payable Team Leader.

Job Opportunity: Accounts Payable Team Leader

Location: Hybrid/Remote
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Salary: up to £35,000 pa

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Team Leader to oversee and manage a small accounts payable team. You will ensure the accurate processing of invoices, manage payment workflows, and maintain strong vendor relationships. This role combines leadership, process improvement, and hands-on accounts payable responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and support the accounts payable team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices.
  2. Resolve discrepancies, manage payment processes, and maintain compliance with policies.
  3. Identify and implement improvements, including automation opportunities.
  4. Generate reports and provide updates to management on team performance.
  5. Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and internal teams.

What We're Looking For:
  1. Proven experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  2. Strong accounting knowledge and familiarity with finance systems (Sage experience desirable).
  3. Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting tools.
  5. A proactive, detail-oriented approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
