Accounts Payable Supervisor
Falkirk (Hybrid Working Available)
£31,500 - £34,000 per annum + excellent benefits

Are you an experienced Accounts Payable professional looking for your next leadership opportunity? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy bringing the best out of your team? If so, this could be the ideal role for you.

We're recruiting on behalf of our client for a hands-on Accounts Payable Supervisor to join their finance team based in Falkirk. Reporting into the wider AP leadership structure, you'll work alongside two other supervisors and take ownership of a small, close-knit team.

This is more than just a people-management role - you'll be deeply involved in daily operations and play a key role in their journey from manual processing to automation. You'll need to stay calm under pressure, resolve issues confidently, and keep the team motivated and on track.

What you'll be doing:

  1. Lead and support a small team within the wider AP function, including weekly 1:1s, workload planning and performance management (including coaching and PIPs where needed).
  2. Step in to support invoice processing and help hit key deadlines when needed.
  3. Oversee day-to-day Accounts Payable operations, including:
    1. Invoice verification, matching, and processing
    2. Managing supplier payments (BACS, cheques, etc.)
    3. Handling supplier queries and resolving discrepancies
    4. Vendor account management and reconciliations
    5. Month-end and year-end reporting and support
  4. Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial procedures.
  5. Be the escalation point for complex or sensitive AP issues.

What we're looking for:
Essential:
  1. Solid experience in a supervisory AP role within a high-volume environment
  2. End-to-end knowledge of AP processes
  3. Calm under pressure and able to manage challenging conversations with confidence
  4. Proven ability to coach and develop team members
  5. Background working within a larger business structure
  6. Self-driven, proactive, and forward-thinking mindset
Desirable:
  1. Experience supporting the transition to automated AP systems
  2. Strong systems knowledge and advanced Excel skills

Key skills & attributes:
  1. Natural leader with strong interpersonal skills
  2. Strong problem-solving ability
  3. Excellent time management and organisational skills
  4. Clear communicator, able to motivate and manage people effectively

What's in it for you?
  1. Competitive salary and hybrid working (split between home and office)
  2. Generous pension scheme and access to Employee Assistance Programme
  3. Continuous learning via internal training and development platforms
  4. Access to salary sacrifice benefits - including additional holidays, cycle-to-work scheme, and more
  5. Death-in-service cover
  6. Access to exclusive retail and lifestyle discounts
  7. Early Friday finish every second week - because work/life balance matters

Working Hours & Flexibility
  1. Monday to Friday, 08:30-17:00
  2. Hybrid working (a blend of office and home-based work)
