Accounts Payable Supervisor - GNFR

Location: Handforth (hybrid role 2-3 days in the office)

Full-Time | Permanent

Salary: £29-30k per annum

Join Pets at Home and lead with purpose in our dynamic Finance team!
We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Supervisor to manage our GNFR (Goods Not For Resale) Accounts Payable function. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a small team, drive process improvements, and ensure our suppliers are paid accurately and on time.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead and manage the GNFR AP team of three, ensuring workloads and deadlines are met.
  • Build strong relationships across the business and with external suppliers.
  • Maintain robust financial controls and ensure segregation of duties.
  • Drive continuous improvement and automation in AP processes.
  • Monitor KPIs and SLAs to enhance team performance and service delivery.
  • Oversee weekly aged creditor analysis, statement reconciliations, and GRNI reviews.
  • Ensure timely resolution of queries and prevent business-critical issues.
  • Manage weekly payment runs, master data accuracy, and period-end tasks.
  • Support internal and external audits and provide regular reporting packs.
  • Conduct regular 1-2-1s, training, and performance reviews for team development.
What we're looking for
  • Proven experience in Accounts Payable with a background in team leadership or supervision. (Preferably, but not essential in a similar size retail company)
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to process improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident using finance systems (SAP or similar).
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Intermediate Excel skills (minimum requirement).
