Job summary

Howard James Recruitment is seeking an experienced Transactional Accounts Assistant to join a busy finance team in Central Knutsford on a maternity cover contract.

The role focuses on supplier invoicing, purchase ledger tasks and ensuring accurate coding and timely payments. You will liaise with suppliers and colleagues, maintain accurate ledgers, and support monthly closing activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in transactional finance or accounts payable.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to communicate with suppliers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices accurately.
• Resolve invoice and payment queries with suppliers.
• Match PO to invoices and attach supporting docs.
• Post invoices and credit notes with correct coding.
• Prepare and reconcile monthly supplier statements.
• Process supplier payment runs.
• Investigate creditor balances and discrepancies.
• Ensure AP processes comply with policies.
