Job summary

Thales is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable professional in Belfast to manage vendor invoices, payments, and related accounting tasks. You will ensure adherence to policy, manage supplier data and support auditors during year-end processes.

The role requires 3+ years in AP and general accounting, strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills, and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a dynamic, multinational team environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounts payable and general accounting experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Oracle is preferred.
• Proven experience driving problems to resolution.
• Strong computer and business solution software skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with vendors, management, and auditors.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review vendor invoices, record invoices according to company policy.
• Maintain accuracy in processing AP transactions, including coding, timely payments and reconciliations.
• Prepare weekly payments to vendors and employees (check, wire transfer and ACH payments).
• Review, verify and process employee expense reports to ensure they are in compliance with Company Policy.
• Maintain vendor information including W-9, and banking information.
• Process credit card statements.
• Track, report, and pay of state and local sales and use taxes.
• Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Assist with the month end close of accounts payable and accruals.
• Assist with the coordination and gathering of documents to support auditors requests.
• Handle various other accounting duties as requested.
