Role Summary

We are seeking an Accounts Payable/Receivable (AP/AR) Controller for our growing recycled metals business. Reporting to the Financial Controller of Tangent Trading Limited, the successful candidate will support various AP/AR financial, operational, and system functions and act as a liaison between Tangent and other Marex departments. This role offers significant exposure to the wider finance and business departments, including Trading, Product Control, and Shipping within Tangent and Marex Group.

Responsibilities
  • Processing daily supplier and customer payments with high accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ensuring timely completion of bank, cash system, and ledger controls and reconciliations.
  • Communicating with suppliers, customers, and banks regarding payments, resolving queries and issues.
  • Contributing to cash flow forecasting and funding requirement planning with Group Treasury and stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across various departments and regions.
  • Participating in month-end close activities, including balance sheet and P&L reporting, journal entries, and balance sheet substantiation.
  • Becoming a superuser of Tangent's Quor/Brady Fintrade CTRM platform.
Skills and Experience
  • Early career or part-qualified/QBE finance professional, ideally with experience in financial services or commodities.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Adaptable, curious, and interested in business processes.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and MS Office; knowledge of CTRM systems like Brady/Quor Fintrade is a plus.
