Job description

Accounts Payable Change Manager

Salary: Circa £42,000

Accounts Payable are responsible for processing invoice payments for our Indirect and Direct supplier spend as well as processing Staff Personal Expense claims.

As AP Project SME, you will be an experienced AP professional responsible for supporting the controlled delivery of projects impacting Aviva’s Finance Operations AP function including direct and indirect invoice processing and personal expense payments.

Aviva’s Finance Operations Team is a core part of the Group Financial Controller Function, acting as a shared service centre of excellence, supporting all Aviva markets. The role will report into the Accounts Payable Manager.

A bit about the job:

The role will require you to lead and manage AP change initiatives, overseeing the implementation of new processes, systems, and policies to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance in the AP function. You will also collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, procurement, and IT teams, to ensure smooth transitions and effective communication.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Change Management: Develop and execute change management strategies to support the implementation of new AP processes and systems.
  • Project Leadership: Lead AP-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Training and Support: Design and deliver training programs for AP staff to ensure they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance AP operations.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure AP processes comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies, mitigating risks associated with change initiatives.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Experienced subject matter expert (‘SME’) – strong understanding of P2P and AP processes, systems and best practice.
  • Analysis – Ability to propose new target operating models following significant change/ integration of businesses’ AP functions and process mapping.
  • Experience of training and embedding new processes.
  • Change experience – comfortable with core project change methodology / requirements including impact analysis, solution design, working to timelines and milestones, project risks and change management.
  • Strong focus on risk and controls.

What you’ll get for this role:

  • Starting salary of circa £42,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
  • Bonus opportunity - 10% of annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
