Job summary

Anne Corder Recruitment is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Assistant to join a busy finance team on a 6–8 week temporary contract in the UK. The role is on-site, 37.5 hours per week, paying £15.39 per hour, with immediate start required.

You will manage supplier invoices, payment runs, and bank reconciliations, supporting day-to-day accounting and contributing to the wider finance function. A strong grasp of accounts payable processes and independence is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Accounts Payable or similar transactional finance role.
• Experience managing and controlling accounts payable.
• Experience preparing payment runs and reconciling payments to invoices.
• Practical experience completing bank reconciliations.
• Ability to work independently and get up to speed quickly.
• Availability to start within the next two weeks.

Responsibilities

• Manage the accounts payable process, including processing and checking supplier invoices
• Prepare payment runs and reconcile payments against invoices
• Complete regular bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Ensure financial transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner
• Work with the nominal ledger and have exposure to the trial balance
