Morgan Financial Search and Selection is assisting an expanding UK Construction Group with its head office in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, to appoint an experienced Accounts Payable Manager.

This hands-on, on-site role leads a centralised Purchase Ledger team, driving process improvements, supplier payments and AI-enabled efficiency, with close collaboration across the finance function and budget holders.

Formación

• End-to-end Accounts Payable/Purchase Ledger management experience.
• Proven team leadership and people management skills.
• Strong systems/Excel skills with proven process-improvement experience.
• Experience with ERP systems and AI-enabled process improvements.

Responsabilidades

• Hands-on management and control of the end-to-end Accounts Payable function, ensuring transactions are processed accurately within deadlines.
• Lead and develop a centralised Purchase Ledger team, providing coaching, training and performance feedback.
• Manage supplier payments, statement reconciliations and supplier queries.
• Drive continuous improvement of processes and systems, including AI adoption, to raise service speed and quality.
• Collaborate with Central Finance colleagues and budget holders UK-wide.

Our exclusive client is an expanding successful and profitable UK Construction Group with its HO based in Newcastle-u-Lyme, Staffordshire.

Following the recent implementation of their new ERP system, they are now looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager with strong People Management and Accounts Payable process/systems skills to lead and develop the newly centralised Purchase Ledger team.

NB This is a fully hands-on, on-site role so candidates must be based in the Staffordshire/South Cheshire region within daily commutable range.

The role:

• Hands-on management and control of the end-to-end Accounts Payable function, ensuring transactions are processed accurately within agreed deadlines.
• Lead and develop a well-motivated Purchase Ledger team, providing coaching, training and regular performance feedback.
• Manage overall team performance, ensuring robust service delivery and continuous improvement.
• Manage Supplier payment processes, statement reconciliations and resolution of Supplier queries.
• Build constructive and successful trusted professional relationships across the Supplier base.
• Proactive improvement of processes and systems, including the new adoption of AI, to constantly raise service speed and quality to enhance the overall customer/client experience.
• Work closely and collaboratively with other Central Finance colleagues here at the HO plus extensive liaison with budget holders across the UK.

Candidate profile required:

• Successful experience of end-to-end Accounts Payable/Purchase Ledger management for a medium-large business.
• Proven Team leadership and People management skills.
• Strong Systems/Excel skills with proven experience of process efficiency improvements.
• Overall, an experienced, confident and assured professional who possesses strong proven People management, Systems development and Problem-solving skills.

My client offers a highly competitive Salary package to attract an excellent experienced candidate including starting salary between £45k-£55k (DOE) plus Bonus.
