Job description

Prime Purpose of Role

To manage all aspects of the AP process, including developing and implementing process improvements through automation and to assist the Financial Controller in executing day to day accounting work.

Main Responsibilities

Stakeholder Management

  • Management of the corporate credit cards, including issuing of new/replacement cards and the management of limits across the group
  • Processing of invoices, including expense reimbursements, and assisting with invoice queries ensuring escalation of issues when necessary
  • Assisting with daily review and approval of all supplier invoices, for both EUKA and US entities, including coding to the right natural account, cost centre and project code
  • Management of the aged creditors report
  • Preparing for fortnightly supplier and staff payment runs, and obtaining approval from CFO/FC for any out of cycle payments
  • Management of employee expenses system - Concur, including but not limited to set up of new employees
  • Driving forward automation projects initiated by the Finance Technology team, where the focus is on AP automation and efficiency
  • Management of the accounts payable team (one direct report)

Management Accounting
  • Preparing and reviewing all AP balance sheet reconciliation accounts and assisting with bank reconciliations
  • Preparing intercompany reconciliations as part of month-end, identifying and correcting any mis-postings
  • Assisting with month-end close processes, including the revaluation of foreign bank and intercompany accounts
  • Preparing management information on a monthly basis, such as travel dashboard
  • Submission of the payment practice legislation report on a bi-annual basis
  • Assisting the team with any ad-hoc requests

Financial Accounting
  • Hands on involvement with the external audit process, including audit liaison
  • Preparation of the carbon reporting (scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions) for Financial Statements purposes

Regulatory Responsibilities

To conduct themselves in accordance with the regulatory requirements and obligations of the regulated entities, paying due regard to the Financial Conduct Authority's Senior Manager and Certification Regime (as well as any other required local regulatory approvals and/or codes of ethics).

Key Skills
  • PC skills - strong Excel is essential / Word is preferable
  • Previous experience with process automation projects is desirable
  • Tech One GL and Concur experience an advantage
  • Strong analytical and time management skills
  • Having a growth mindset and showing willingness to learn and take on more responsibility
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work is essential
  • Good team player who is flexible to work towards and achieve tight (and occasionally unexpected) deadlines
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of staff both within JOHCM and externally
