Job description

Temporary opportunity for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join a busy finance team on an initial 3-month contract basis in Aberdeen. This role will involve assisting with invoice processing, bank reconciliations and supporting preparation for month-end. Ideal opportunity for an individual with previous experience within Accounts Payable.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing and accurately processing supplier invoices and expense reports.
  • Performing regular bank and cash reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy.
  • Preparing and issuing purchase orders, processing sales orders, and handling customer statements.
  • Monitoring accounts, resolving discrepancies, and communicating effectively with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Supporting with month-end preparation such as prepayments and accruals.
  • Assisting with the production of financial reporting to support decision-making.

Applicants to this role require

  • Previous experience working within an Accounts Payable focused role.
  • Knowledge of finance and accounting practices.
  • Strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively alongside others.
  • Ability to learn and pick up new software systems.
  • Effective time management skills, and ability to adapt to different situations.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
