Job description

Accounts Payable Assistant at urbanest

Location: Covent Garden, London
Salary: £29,000 per annum plus discretionary 10% bonus.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday; working hours 9:00am - 5:30pm

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain or further their experience in a growing business. You will be working closely with the Accounts Payable Supervisor, and on-the-job training will be provided. In this role, you will support the team with the management of accounts payable and contribute to the smooth running of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities as Accounts Payable Assistant:
  • Monitor and manage the Accounts Payable inbox.
  • Process purchase orders for expenses related to both operating properties and properties under development.
  • Ensure supplier invoices are authorised according to company policy.
  • Prepare development payment runs and upload payments into the banking system.
  • Post payments to Netsuite in a timely manner.
  • Set up new supplier accounts in accounting software and complete necessary new supplier checks according to company processes.
  • Review and post staff expense claim forms.
  • Prepare supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Maintain and tidy the purchase ledger, ensuring all invoices are matched to payments and that all direct debit payments are recorded.
  • Manage the corporate Amazon account, ensuring invoices are submitted to Netsuite and paid on time.
Tax:
  • Prepare and file CIS returns.
  • Reconcile CIS creditor balances.
Skills and Experience We're Looking For:
  • A proactive and detail-oriented individual with a keen interest in finance.
  • Some experience in accounts payable or a finance-related field is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop.
  • Experience with Netsuite preferred but not essential.
