Job summary

CEVA Logistics UK&I is hiring an organised Accounts Payable Assistant to join the finance team at our Ashby-de-la-Zouch head office. You will work alongside our outsourced processing partner to ensure invoices are entered, reviewed and paid accurately and on time.

Responsibilities include monitoring invoices, resolving discrepancies, reconciling supplier statements and supporting month-end activities. You will build strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams while maintaining robust

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage priorities.
• Experience with outsourcing/shared service AP functions is a plus.

OUR ROLE

We are looking for an organised and proactive Accounts Payable Assistant to join our finance team at our head office in Ashby-de-la-Zouch.

Working closely with our outsourced Accounts Payable processing partner, you will help ensure invoices are processed accurately and on time. With invoice entry and initial processing managed externally, your focus will be on overseeing activity, resolving discrepancies and maintaining financial controls, while building strong relationships with suppliers and colleagues.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

You will monitor invoice processing and review outstanding items, working with our outsourced partner and internal teams to resolve issues and keep invoices moving through to payment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Investigating invoice exceptions relating to purchase orders, coding, approvals, tax and supplier information.
• Monitoring invoices approaching their payment due dates, resolving outstanding issues and escalating where needed.
• Reconciling supplier statements and responding to invoice, payment and account balance queries.
• Supporting payment preparation and validation, investigating duplicate invoices and incorrect payments, and assisting with supplier data and bank detail verification.
• Supporting month‑end activities, maintaining reports and ensuring accurate documentation and audit trails.
• Monitoring the outsourced provider’s service levels and identifying opportunities to improve processes, reduce recurring errors and strengthen controls.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

You will bring experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role, with a good understanding of the purchase-to-pay process and experience resolving supplier queries and invoice or payment discrepancies. Experience working with an outsourced or shared service Accounts Payable function would be an advantage.

With strong attention to detail and good organisational skills, you will be comfortable managing competing priorities and deadlines. You will take ownership of issues, investigate discrepancies and follow queries through to resolution, communicating clearly with suppliers, colleagues and external service providers.

You will also be confident using finance systems and Microsoft Excel, with good analytical and problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to improving processes.
