Job description

Are you a dedicated Accounts Payable Administrator looking to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation? At Tarmac, we are seeking an Accounts Payable Administrator to join our team.

About The Role

Reporting to the Accounts Payable Lead, the Accounts Payable Administrator will ensure the accurate and timely processing of supplier payments in accordance with company policies and controls. You will play a key role in maintaining strong vendor relationships, supporting internal stakeholders, and safeguarding the business against financial risk.

What You'll Be Doing

As the successful Accounts Payable Administrator, you will carry out a variety of tasks including (not exhaustive):

  • Payment Processing - processing supplier payments accurately via BACS & direct BACS transfers, uploading payments into the supplier finance portal, and ensuring all payments are supported by appropriate approvals and documentation.
  • Mailbox & Vendor Management - managing the shared Accounts Payable and Payment Request mailboxes, responding promptly and professionally to vendor queries, and maintaining positive relationships through clear communication.
  • Fraud Prevention - acting as the first line of defence against payment fraud by conducting checks, escalating suspicious activity, and ensuring compliance with internal policies.
  • Cash Forecasting - preparing and maintaining weekly cash forecasts and collaborating with Treasury to ensure sufficient funds for foreign currency requirements.
  • Stakeholder Support - liaising with Procurement, Treasury, Operations, and other finance teams to resolve payment issues and improve processes.
  • Compliance & Controls - ensuring adherence to internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards, validating bank detail amendments, and reconciling supplier statements.
