Accounts Payable Accountant

Role Summary

We are recruiting for an Accounts Payable Accountant to join our Europe Africa Team on a Fixed Term basis for approximately 8 months.

The Accountants Payable (AP) accountant will be responsible for providing all financial and administrative support within the Accountants payable function of the organization. Also, ensure compliance with the company's policies and procedures and related internal controls.

Responsibilities

1. Understand Borr's vision and apply the company values in all business activities.
2. Keeping track of all payments and expenditures, including purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.
3. Sort, code and match invoices, upload and set them up for payment approval in the system.
4. Prepare and process electronic transfers, scheduling payments and ensuring payments are received for any outstanding credit; generally responding to all vendor enquiries regarding finance.
5. Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records.
6. Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
7. Preparing Vendor statement reconciliations, analysis of accounts, producing monthly reports including AP aging report and assisting with month end closing.
8. Maintaining vendor files and other historical records.
9. Continuing to improve the AP process.
10. Providing support during internal and external audits.
11. Understand the Region's specific Local Taxes (VAT, WHT) for each country within the region to be able to process AP invoices and Payments as per local regulations.
12. Preparation of Region related Reporting requirements related to AP, this includes IKTVA Submission, GOSI, WHT Returns, VAT Returns, and Contracts Reporting to local authorities.
13. Uploading Vendor Payment files to Bank Portal for Payment approval at processing by the bank.
14. Preparation of Weekly Payment Proposals and submitting for review and approval.
15. Review and submit changes to Vendor Bank Accounts in IFS.
16. Communicates internally with Senior Accountant, Cost Controller, Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Rig Managers, Heads of Departments, Co-workers and Colleagues.
17. Communicates externally with vendors to ensure all transactions are recorded and there are no open vendor payment issues.
18. Provide assistance to the Rig Manager and other functional departments with respect to their department vendor invoices.
19. Ensure proper control and verification of all transactions and the recording of the same correctly.
20. If required, provide assistance to other regional accounts payable personnel.
21. Office based role which requires attention to detail and data management working under general supervision and where problems can be difficult but not complex.
22. Occasional offshore/shipyard visits may be required in this role.

Qualifications and Experience

1. Relevant college degree/Diploma (Accounting and/or finance degree required).
2. Prefer experience in a similar role within the offshore drilling related environment.
3. Excellent English verbal and written communications skills.
4. Good MS Excel working knowledge and ERP experience preferred.
5. Candidate must pass a drug screen and background check.
