ACCOUNTS / OFFICE MANAGER LOCATION: Haverhill

Full Time permanent contract – 5 days (39.5 hours) per week 08:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Thursday, 08:00am to 1:30pm Friday.

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Accounts / Office Manager to join our busy and vibrant team in support of our ambitious growth plans. This is a full time, permanent role working Monday to Thursday 8:00am – 5:00pm and Friday 08:00am - 1:30pm, based in Haverhill in Suffolk.

The ideal candidate would have previous experience in an office management role as well as having a strong and experienced background in Accounts using Sage Accounts, Sage 50 Payroll and Microsoft Office applications. You will have ideally worked in a similar environment within a small company and be adept at working in a varied and busy role. You must be a confident communicator with the ability to multitask and approach your work with a positive attitude.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Reception duties meeting and greeting visitors
  • Incoming call answering & dealing with incoming enquiries via phone & email
  • Providing administration support to the MD & Office team
  • Generating Daily Invoice & Dispatch Paperwork
  • Sales & Purchase ledger duties
  • Credit control duties including chasing overdue payments and statement reconciliations
  • Bank reconciliation / Sales & Purchase reconciliation
  • Preparation of weekly cashflow / payment plan
  • Processing of quarterly VAT Returns and compliance
  • Submitting PAYE to HMRC
  • Processing monthly Payroll for approximately 15 Staff
  • Processing month end and year end management accounts
  • Assisting with the development & implementation of new internal processes, systems & software
  • Various general daily company administration duties as required
  • Other bookkeeping and ad hoc tasks as required

Personal specification:

  • Well developed IT skills – Sage 50 Accounts, Sage 50 Payroll, Microsoft Office / Excel
  • Conscientious, ambitious, self-motivated, respectful and driven
  • Appreciates the importance of following agreed processes, but also thinks creatively about improving processes
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Motivated with good time management skills and the ability to prioritise
  • A team player who is willing to be flexible with a proactive and ‘can do’ attitude
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Punctual and reliable
