Job summary

Insite Public Practice Recruitment Limited seeks an Accounts Manager to lead an outsourced finance function for owner-managed businesses in Cardiff. You’ll oversee management accounts, statutory statements and reporting while mentoring a team and driving client success.

The role offers hybrid working, a clear progression path, and opportunities to expand a diverse client portfolio with support from a respected UK firm.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or AAT qualification or qualified by experience in UK accountancy practice.
• Experience managing a client portfolio within Business Services or Outsourced Accounting.
• Strong knowledge of statutory accounts and management accounts.
• Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, with exposure to CaseWare or similar software being advantageous.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, WIP and client profitability.
• A confident leader with experience mentoring and developing junior team members.
• Passionate about delivering an exceptional client experience and building lasting relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality outsourced accounting services.
• Oversee the preparation and review of management accounts and statutory financial statements.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building trusted long-term relationships.
• Manage WIP, billing, budgets and overall portfolio profitability.
• Lead, coach and develop a team, supporting both technical and professional development.
• Collaborate closely with Audit and Corporate Tax teams to provide a seamless client service.
• Identify opportunities to grow existing client relationships and support wider business development initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvements across systems, processes and client service delivery.
