Job summary

Autograph Recruitment is recruiting for an Accounts Manager in Chard, Somerset. You will oversee a client portfolio, act as the primary contact, and ensure high-quality work across statutory accounts, tax, and VAT while working closely with Directors in a supportive practice environment.

The role emphasizes client-facing duties, accurate billing, and timely delivery. ACA/ACCA are preferred qualifications, with a 1st-class level of organisation and communication expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounting practice or practice-style environment.
• Strong client communication and relationship management.
• Ability to manage deadlines and deliverables across a portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients as main point of contact.
• Review statutory accounts, tax and VAT returns.
• Ensure deadlines are met across your portfolio.
• Draft professional client correspondence.
• Manage billing, WIP and outstanding fees.
• Handle new client enquiries and onboarding.
• Liaise with HMRC and other third parties.
• Support Directors with client and practice matters.
