Purpose:
The Accounts Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational oversight of Accounts Payable, ensuring efficient service delivery, strong performance, and excellent customer service. This role requires responsiveness to evolving business needs and financial demands, adapting processes to maintain accuracy and efficiency.

As a key figure in financial operations, the Manager ensures the effective implementation of financial controls and safeguarding the financial viability and sustainability of the organisation’s finance functions. This role plays a critical part in maintaining compliance, optimising cash flow, and supporting overall financial integrity.

Location: Homebased with occasional travel to the Manchester Office (minimum twice a week)

Personal Specification

  • AAT Qualified or Equivalent Finance Qualification.
  • Experience of managing an Accounts Payable function.
  • Experience of working in a financial environment undertaking and managing all accounts payable duties.
  • Strong leadership that supports and provides clear direction.
  • Experience of building relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and practical experience of using IT as analytical and management tools.
  • Experience of managing the delivery of projects and working to deadlines and under pressure.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent written skills to develop and implement financial policies and procedures and produce reports when requested.
  • Ability to analyse and manage data and produce relevant reports.
  • Able to communicate effectively and build effective working relationships with customers, both internal and external, and other stakeholders, and having confidence to challenge others and able to interact effectively with different people.
  • An understanding and experience of working for the ‘Not for Profit’ Sector and/or Housing Provider in the Social Housing Sector.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn more about learning disability and autism.
  • Understanding of and willingness to promote EDI in employment and service delivery.
  • The post holder may be required to work outside normal office hours on occasion.
