Accounts Manager

Join a dynamic and growing practice based in North London, known for the quality of its client base and variety of work. We are seeking an ambitious Accounts Manager to join their Music and Entertainment team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients from owner-managed businesses to international artists and performers.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Establish the objectives of the engagement including the issue of engagement letters, relay of timetables, and issuance of deliverables.
  • Make general planning decisions with respect to resourcing, staff objectives, timelines, budgetary review, and WIP monitoring.
  • Maintain close review of the staff resourcing planner, work with the M&E director, the outsourcing and ESO teams, and other departments to cater to the needs of the department and the firm.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of the work with client activities and requirements.
  • Assign the senior, assistants, and specialists required to perform the fieldwork, meet their training needs during assignments, provide guidance on matters as necessary, and supervise their work to address queries raised during the assignment.
  • Review all planning aspects, working papers, and completion work to bring the relevant files to a stage ready for partner review prior to finalisation.
  • Discuss and resolve all contentious points in accounting or accounts disclosure, seeking appropriate specialist assistance where required.
  • Assist partners to bill clients for services rendered, monitor WIP processes, and provide WIP reports to partners.
  • Prepare costing and quotes for assignments and prepare tender documentation where necessary.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified with a minimum of 4 years’ experience within a UK practice.
  • Experience in statutory and monthly reporting under FRS102 (including s1A) and FRSq102 SORP.
  • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to form professional relationships and work closely with clients.
  • Experience in people and time management, preferably within a business services team in excess of 10 people.
  • Knowledge of Caseware, CCH software, Sage, Quickbooks, Xero, and Microsoft packages is beneficial.
  • Experience of groups and consolidation is beneficial.
  • Music and Entertainment industry experience is preferred but not vital.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional but fun personality.
  • Able to commute and work from our office in Finchley Central.
