Due to continued growth over the past twelve months, we are looking for a self-directed and forward-thinking accountant to work within our client’s Outsourced | FD service line as an accounts compliance manager.

The successful candidate should be interested in supporting small to medium-sized privately owned businesses, managing a portfolio of clients supported by the rest of the Outsourced | FD team.

This role offers a blend of leadership and client interaction, ideal for a seasoned Accountant who thrives in a general practice setting and enjoys flexible hybrid work.

The role:

Increasing use of outsourced finance and advisory functions helps businesses delegate financial tasks to third-party providers, focusing on strategic growth and efficiency.

Our client aims to ease financial administration burdens, saving time and money, and helping clients achieve strategic goals through accurate, real-time financial data for informed decision-making.

Key Duties:

  • Support and provide guidance within a small team.
  • Manage a client portfolio, deliver high-quality accounts services, and prepare/review year-end accounts.
  • Plan staffing and resources for delivery assignments.
  • Ensure timely service delivery, manage workflow, billing, and delegate tasks.
  • Develop and expand client relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Maintain daily communication with clients, addressing queries and providing advice.
  • Manage job progress, meet budgets, and address issues to ensure timely completion.
  • Review VAT returns and management accounts, providing insightful commentary.
  • Prepare year-end accounts for larger clients.
  • Review and sign off accounts files, address issues before partner review.
  • Use Xero for accounting tasks and ensure team proficiency.

You will have:

The key attributes include:

  • Qualified Accountant, or qualified by experience, with a solid UK accounting background.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong accounts preparation skills.
  • Organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • A passion for accounting.
  • A positive attitude and commitment to the firm's values.
  • Forward-thinking and innovative mindset.
  • Experience with MS Excel, Word, CCH, and Xero preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Salary depends on experience and qualification—AAT qualified, or Part/Fully qualified ACA or ACCA.
