Autograph Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking anAccounts & Bookkeeping Advisor for a well-established accountancy practice in the Yeovil area. The role covers accounts, bookkeeping, VAT and tax with regular client contact.

The position involves year-end accounts, tax returns, monthly bookkeeping, ledgers, reconciliations, VAT, and client onboarding. AAT or similar qualification is advantageous, with Xero experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous accountancy practice experience.
• Accounts preparation experience.
• Bookkeeping and VAT experience.
• Personal/business tax experience would be beneficial, but training can be provided.
• AAT or similar qualification would be advantageous, although QBE candidates will also be considered.
• Experience with Xero or similar cloud accounting software.
• Good communication skills and confidence dealing with clients.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Accounts & Bookkeeping Advisor – Yeovil | £30,000–£36,000 DOE

I’m currently recruiting for an Accounts & Bookkeeping Advisor to join a well-established accountancy practice in the Yeovil area.

This is a really varied role, ideal for someone with accountancy practice experience who enjoys working across accounts, bookkeeping, VAT and tax and having regular contact with clients.

The role will involve:

• Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies

• Preparing personal and/or business tax returns, depending on experience

• Monthly bookkeeping for a varied portfolio of clients

• Sales and purchase ledger processing

• Bank and credit card reconciliations

• Journals, accruals, prepayments and depreciation

• Preparing VAT returns

• Liaising directly with clients and helping to ensure deadlines are met

• Supporting new client onboarding and wider practice activities

• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and client service

They’re open to candidates at different stages of their career. Ideally, you’ll have a good grounding across accounts, bookkeeping and VAT, but they would also consider someone with strong practice experience in one or two areas who is keen to broaden their skill set.
