Job Description
We are seeking a candidate to work closely with a Client Manager, assisting with a portfolio of audit and OMB clients, and supporting our professional team in delivering a comprehensive range of services to our diverse client base.
Accounts & General Practice
- Prepare complete sets of accounts from source documents to final review by managers or seniors.
- Work on a variety of accounts, including Limited Companies, Sole Traders, Partnerships, and Groups.
- Manage a varied client portfolio across sectors such as OMBs, advertising, retail, construction, contractors, and healthcare.
- Input data into Iris and assist with queries related to Xero, along with clients as needed.
- Calculate accruals and prepayments, prepare supporting schedules, and maintain fixed asset registers.
- Assist in the preparation of corporation tax and self-assessment returns.
- Develop relationships with clients to serve as a point of contact for accounts, tax, or VAT queries.
- Attend client meetings and liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients.
- Manage time effectively to meet deadlines within budget.
- Provide guidance and training to junior team members to ensure team cohesion.
- Handle general client queries and escalate when necessary.
- Work with various systems including FreeAgent, Xero, IRIS, Pro-Audit, SAGE, and QuickBooks.
- Participate in ad-hoc client projects.
Audit & Financial Reporting
- Assist in the planning phase of audits alongside the Audit Manager and Director.
- Lead the execution of statutory audits for medium and large UK companies and groups.
- Complete audit files for review, supervising and reviewing junior staff work.
- Communicate directly with clients to resolve technical issues and agree on audit adjustments.
- Prepare client statutory accounts under FRS102, including international group consolidations.
- Draft corporate tax computations for review and prepare additional analyses as required.
- Attend finalisation meetings with clients and assist audit partners with ad-hoc assignments.
