Job description

What you'll be doing?

Our Finance teams don't just process numbers; they collect vital information which informs decisions and drives our business. They are a pivotal part of our commercial success. If you enjoy working in a front-line, operational role where your work is valued and impacts the business, this could be the right place for you.

Reporting to the Accountant, you will support the Finance team in ensuring the timely completion of monthly management accounts.

You will be expected to:

  1. Assist with and ensure accurate and timely payments and account servicing.
  2. Own and reconcile the bank account and cash book, including writing and banking cheques.
  3. Maintain and reconcile petty cash.
  4. Verify the accuracy of invoices and other accounting records.
  5. Input expenses, mileage, and commissions related to salaries.
  6. Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers, and records of financial transactions.
  7. Assist with Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Returns.
  8. Ensure accurate accounting for VAT, subcontractors' tax, and CITB payments.
  9. Support ad hoc projects, tasks, and reports as required.

What you'll need

To succeed in this role, we are looking for:

  1. Excellent attention to detail.
  2. Possibly pursuing or interested in studying for an accounting qualification.
  3. Ability to work under tight deadlines.
  4. Strong reconciliation, mathematical, and organizational skills.
