Accounts Assistant - Poole - up to £31,000

Join to apply for the Accounts Assistant - Poole - up to £31,000 role at Stichting Vrienden van Zonnehuisgroep Amstelland.

This role is based in Poole and offers a diverse range of responsibilities beyond basic processing, ideal for someone eager to learn and develop their skills to support the Finance Manager. Manufacturing experience is advantageous but not essential. You will be responsible for all transactional finance functions within a small team, including:

Key Tasks
  • Accounts Payable: matching, batching, coding, payment runs, statement reconciliation, handling expenses and supplier queries
  • Banking: reconciling accounts in GBP, USD, Euro, and processing credit card payments
  • Accounts Receivable: uploading sales invoices, issuing monthly statements, monitoring AR balances, and following up on overdue accounts
  • Payroll: collating and validating weekly overtime, reconciling sickness and holiday absences, and preparing payroll data for the payroll bureau
  • Month-End Processes: reconciling balance sheet control accounts, investigating discrepancies, processing accruals and prepayments, and running stock valuation and WIP calculations
  • Additional Duties: assisting with year-end close, annual audits, and ad hoc tasks for the Finance Manager
Qualifications and Experience
  • AAT qualified or studying; candidates with solid experience will also be considered
  • Knowledge of Xero is advantageous but not essential
  • Experience with manufacturing software is a plus
  • Experience in payroll preparation is beneficial but can be trained
  • Strong understanding of transactional bookkeeping
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow processes, multitask, and prioritize effectively
  • High accuracy and attention to detail

The role is fully office-based, with options for 30 hours (4 days) or 37.5 hours per week. Benefits include 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, sick pay, life assurance, pension, social events, and on-site parking.
