Alexander Daniels Limited is working with a growing precision engineering and manufacturing business based near Blaby, Leicester, seeking an Accounts Assistant to support day-to-day finance activities in a fast-paced SME environment. The role covers purchase and sales ledgers, bank reconciliations, expenses, and month-end tasks with real potential to progress towards a Management Accountant position.

Qualifications

• Experience as Accounts Assistant or Finance Assistant or similar role.
• Proficiency with Excel and financial data.
• Strong organisational abilities and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Processing supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
• Reconciling supplier statements
• Resolving invoice queries
• Assisting with supplier payment runs
• Raising customer invoices and credit notes
• Maintaining customer account records
• Supporting credit control and debt collection activities
• Reconciling multiple UK and foreign currency bank accounts
• Investigating and resolving discrepancies
• Supporting daily cash management processes
• Processing employee expenses
• Reviewing and reconciling company credit card transactions
• Ensuring policy compliance
• Assisting with month-end processes
• Supporting reporting and data analysis
• Contributing to acquisition integration projects
• Helping drive continuous improvement within the finance function
• Providing general office and administrative support where required
