About the Role

As the Accounts Assistant Manager / Client Manager, you will take on a varied and engaging role with a blend of client management and technical accounting responsibilities. You will work with a diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from SMEs to owner-managed businesses across a variety of industries.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Client Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting client relationships, acting as their key point of contact for day-to-day queries and advice.
  • Accounts Preparation: Overseeing and reviewing the preparation of statutory accounts, management accounts, and financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Team Leadership: Supporting and mentoring junior staff members, reviewing their work, and assisting in their professional development.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensuring the timely and accurate submission of VAT returns, corporation tax computations, and other tax obligations.
  • Business Advisory Services: Providing tailored advice to clients on improving financial performance, cash flow management, and growth strategies.
  • Compliance & Standards: Keeping up to date with changes in accounting standards and regulations, ensuring clients remain compliant.

Requirements

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • A professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or equivalent (part-qualified or qualified by experience will also be considered).
  • A solid background in accountancy practice, with experience managing a portfolio of clients.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles, tax compliance, and relevant software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues alike.
  • Leadership qualities, with a desire to mentor and develop junior team members.
  • A proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
