Job description

Due to continued growth, our client has a new opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join their team.

Are you an experienced Legal Cashier, an experienced Accounts Assistant - or are you looking to start your Accounts career having gained the qualifications - just hungry for the chance to get stuck in?

If so, you could be perfect to join this close-knit, friendly accounts team. This role is full time, office based.

What You ll Be Doing

  • Assisting with day-to-day accounts and transactions
  • Learning to manage client and office accounts in line with Solicitors Accounts Rules (SRA)
  • Supporting the finance team with invoicing, payments, and bank reconciliations
  • Helping fee earners with financial queries
  • Developing your knowledge of legal accounting systems
  • Checking client balances and working with fee earners to clear following completion, ensuring balances are returned promptly;
  • Transferring costs and disbursements;
  • Liaising with clients by phone to take card payments

What We re Looking For

  • Strong numeracy and attention to detail
  • Good organisation skills and reliability
  • Willingness to learn legal financial procedures
  • Basic experience with Excel
  • Experience of bookkeeping software would be an advantage
  • A background in finance or legal support is desirable
  • Accounts experience - or AAT qualified at some level
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Motivated, pro-active and highly organised, with good attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Friendly, confident, polite, customer service orientated
