Join a leading not-for-profit organization as an Accounts Assistant for a 6-month fixed-term contract. This fully office-based position involves managing financial transactions and supporting reporting processes, ensuring compliance and maintaining records. Ideal candidates will have demonstrable finance experience, detailed knowledge of bookkeeping, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Accounts Assistant to join a well-known not-for-profit organisation based near Maidenhead on a 6-month FTC (You must be immediately available). This role is fully office-based.
This role is vital to the day-to-day operation of the Finance team, managing a broad range of financial transactions, supporting reporting processes, and upholding internal controls.
Responsibilities include:
* Managing financial transactions, including raising and issuing invoices, monitoring aged debtors, and pursuing overdue balances.
* Processing supplier invoices with accurate coding and authorisation, maintaining supplier records, and coordinating timely payments.
* Performing daily/monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts, and managing petty cash, credit card, and Amazon transaction reconciliations.
* Supporting income reconciliation for various streams and handling cash receipts.
* Assisting with month-end close preparations, maintaining the fixed asset register, and posting depreciation entries.
* Liaising with suppliers and internal/external stakeholders to resolve queries, and assisting with annual external audit queries.
* Upholding compliance with financial policies, controls, and procedures.
Qualities and Experience:
* Demonstrable experience in a similar finance or accounts role.
* Sound understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and financial processes.
* Extensive experience of sales and purchase ledger management and bank account reconciliation.
* Proficiency in Office 365, including Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups), and accounting software.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
