Sewell Wallis Ltd in Huddersfield is recruiting an Accounts Assistant to join a well-established West Yorkshire manufacturing business on an ongoing temporary basis, with a view to potentially going permanent. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with finance experience to develop their skills within a busy finance team.

The role involves processing invoices, assisting with reconciliations and month-end procedures, and providing general support to the accounts payable/receivable

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an accounts or finance administration role.
• A good understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, with experience using accounting software.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Processing purchase and sales invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely entry into the accounting system.
• Assisting with bank reconciliations and allocating incoming payments.
• Reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice queries.
• Supporting the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Assisting with month-end procedures and the preparation of financial reports.
• Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring finance systems are kept up to date.
• Providing general support to the wider finance team as required.
