Job summary

Ascent Recruitment Ltd is recruiting an Accounts Assistant for a growing SME in Runcorn. Hybrid working (3 days in office) with a salary of £27,000–£30,000 plus a 10% bonus and study support.

The role offers exposure across finance and genuine progression opportunities in a supportive team environment. Ideal candidates have SME/transactional accounts experience, strong Excel skills, and a proactive attitude.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or Finance Assistant role.
• AAT studier or qualified.
• Good Excel skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication skills.
• Able to work autonomously but as part of a team.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Sales ledger, invoicing and credit control.
• Purchase ledger processing and supplier payments.
• Bank reconciliations and cash management.
• Supporting month-end processes and reporting.
• Expenses and company card processing.
• Assisting with cashflow forecasting.
• Helping improve finance processes and controls.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the wider business.
