Job summary

CAA Stellar is seeking an Accounts Assistant to support the fast-paced finance team. You will report to the Financial Controller, assist with daily transactions, month-end close, and VAT compliance for European entities.

The role offers exposure to multiple areas of finance, potential progression to Assistant Accountant, and requires proactive, independent work in a small team setting.

Qualifications

• AAT Level 3 (or equivalent) is required.
• 1–2 years of finance/accounts experience.
• Experience posting journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Experience with intercompany accounts and international ledgers.
• Experience preparing quarterly VAT returns and reviewing ledger data.
• Proficiency with SAP or similar ERP.
• Strong Excel skills (Pivot, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP).
• Ability to work independently with proactive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Report to Financial Controller and support day-to-day accounting operations.
• Close month-end with Management Accountant.
• Manage daily bank postings and reconciliations.
• Prepare and post journals including prepayments and accruals.
• Prepare overseas trial balances and upload as journals in SAP.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and intercompany ledgers.
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns and monthly VAT review.
• Support European entity ledgers and year-end audit schedules.
