Job summary

Lloyd’s in Chatham is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our International Finance team. You will gain broad exposure across financial reporting, international operations and statutory accounting, supporting accuracy and timeliness of financial information used across the organisation.

You'll contribute to monthly close, balance sheet reconciliations and regulatory reporting, collaborating with global stakeholders and helping drive process improvements in a dynamic, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting accounting, financial reporting or management accounting activities.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills to work with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Good Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience using an accounting or finance system such as Workday, SAP, Oracle or similar.
  • An understanding of UK GAAP or IFRS, or a desire to develop knowledge in these areas.
  • We're particularly interested in candidates who are studying towards, hold, or are considering a professional accounting qualification such as AAT, ACCA, ACA or CIMA.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation and processing of financial accounting activities within the general ledger.
  • Assist with monthly close and consolidation activities across our international offices and entities.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and help maintain a strong financial control environment.
  • Support the preparation of half-year and annual financial reporting.
  • Work with colleagues across Financial Reporting, FP&A, Regulatory Reporting, Investment Reporting and Financial Operations.
  • Build relationships with international stakeholders and help ensure financial information is accurate, complete and delivered on time.
  • Support internal and external audit activity and help implement agreed recommendations.
  • Contribute to process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Help maintain clear and effective finance procedures and documentation.
