Job summary

Puro Associates, Maidstone, is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to manage bookkeeping and VAT services for a varied client portfolio. The role involves working with cloud systems, maintaining accuracy, and delivering timely filings.

You will support accountants, handle year-end data handovers, and build strong client relationships while travelling to client sites across Kent. AAT Level 3 or equivalent is required, with Sage/Xero/QuickBooks experience.

Qualifications

• Experience with cloud bookkeeping software and accurate data entry.
• 2+ years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of VAT and CIS processes.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Bookkeeping using cloud software (QuickBooks, Xero).
• Assist accountants with year-end data handover.
• Prepare VAT Returns and CIS calculations.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable; perform bank reconciliations.
• Assist clients with bookkeeping queries and train on QuickBooks/Xero.
• Travel to client sites across Kent; maintain client relationships.
