Job summary

A local recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper for a temporary position in Inverness. Qualifications

Title: Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper
Type: Temporary
Hours: Full or Part Time (Monday - Friday)
Location: Inverness

Details:
Our client is looking to appoint a experienced Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper to be based in Inverness on a temporary basis for an initial period of 2-3 months. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to build on their existing accounts experience in a busy environment offering the opportunity for continued professional development.
Duties include:
• General bookkeeping duties.
• Sales and purchase ledger processing and reconciliation.
• Assisting with the calculation and submission of VAT returns.
• Petty cash and credit card reconciliations.
• Bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Assisting with financial reporting.
• Updating a range of spreadsheets and databases including MS Excel.
• Payroll and CIS filings.
• Updating and maintaining accurate financial records.
Person Specification:
• Previous accounts/bookkeeping experience is preferred.
• Applicants must have an aptitude for learning and the desire to progress a career within an accountancy & finance environment.
• Ability to operate effectively with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong IT skills including MS office and financial software systems.
• Ability to pick up new skills quickly.
• A willingness to learn and undertake a range of training and development programmes is required.
