We support hybrid working here at SelectScience, with up to 3-days a week in our Corston office (for this reason will are only considering candidate based in the UK, and close proximity to Corston, Bath).
The Role - Purpose
We are currently seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our Accounts team on a full-time permanent basis. This is a newly created role to support the current team of 3, reporting to the Financial Controller. We are looking for someone who is energetic and passionate who can bring this to the team and is great at building relationships at all levels internally and externally. Working as part of a small team, the duties will be varied and may change from time to time and training will be provided as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving and posting via document filing system all supplier invoices
Obtaining correct authorisation of all invoices
Reconciling supplier statements
Processing supplier payments and adhering to payment terms
Processing employee expenses and credit card usage
Work towards month end deadlines
Answering supplier queries
Manage and maintain accurate Accounts Payable ledger
Potentially assist with Accounts Receivable and/or payroll depending upon experience and business requirements.
Process daily sales admin queries from SalesForce (CRM)
General and ad-hoc office duties as would befit working in a Finance and accounts environment
Cover other tasks to support holiday absence and to assist in adhering to the accounting deadlines
Experience & Technical Skills
Essential
1-2 years’ experience within a similar role
Be able to demonstrate accurate and timely invoice processing
Good communication skills
Working Excel experience, intermediate, or higher
Strong communication skills, both written and verbally
Ability to work as part of a team as well as individually, establishing and maintaining good working relationships
Experience of working with modern accounting systems
Desirable
Experience of Xero, SalesForce and Hubdoc.
Exposure to SAGE payroll
Experience of Bank reconciliations
Experience of debt collection
