We are seeking a talented individual to join our Accounting Operations team at Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC).This role will be based in Witham. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

You will be part of a global team and the support this position provides will be vital in maintaining and developing the track record of success MMC has, in ensuring all month-end and quarter-end deliverables are met.

We will count on you to:

  • Produce & control review of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Journal creation, review, and approvals
  • Carry out Exception reporting and perform checks prior to issuing. Ensure timely investigation and resolution of any exception items
  • Ensure all month-end and quarter-end deliverables are met.
  • Communicate regularly with offshore counterpart including senior management and treasury
  • Record and monitor new tasks through change control process
  • Attend meetings with managers, colleagues as required. Assist with other ad-hoc tasks, projects and initiatives as required.
  • Assist auditors.
  • Assist with current and future accounting operation transitions

What you need to have:

  • Minimum 2 years’ accounts experience.
  • Good accounting knowledge with experience in Balance sheet recs and journal entries
  • An excellent academic background, ideally part or fully qualified AAT.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to interact with both clients and colleagues within a fast moving professional team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
