Key details:

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm, 39 hours per week
  • Wage: £7.55 per hour
  • Location: East Terrace Business Park, Euxton, Chorley, Lancashire, PR7 6TB
  • Apprenticeship Standard: Level 2 Accounts Assistant
  • Duration: 17 months
Overview of the role:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the accounting field while developing their skills in a supportive environment. As an Apprentice, you will work closely with experienced professionals, gaining valuable insights into various accounting processes and software.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with daily bookkeeping tasks, including data entry and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Support the accounts payable process by verifying invoices and processing payments
  • Utilise accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, and other relevant tools to manage financial information
  • Help prepare financial reports and assist in month-end closing activities
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Collaborate with team members on various projects and contribute to a positive working environment
  • Demonstrate a proactive attitude towards learning and development within the field of accounting

Skills & Personal Qualities Required:

  • Familiarity with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar platforms (advantageous but not mandatory)
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for professional interaction with team members and clients
  • A proactive attitude towards learning and development within the field of accounting
  • Independent and self-motivated - able to manage tasks confidently and take initiative
