Howett-Thorpe Recruitment Consultants Limited is helping an established employer in the Liss area recruit an early-career Accounts Assistant to handle day-to-day transactional accounts while developing across the finance function.

You will manage purchase and sales ledgers, supplier invoices, bank reconciliations and expense processing, with opportunities to learn systems, AI tooling and process improvements in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Some previous experience in an accounts or finance role.
• A good understanding of purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank reconciliations and payment processing.
• Strong attention to detail, with a well-organised and methodical approach.
• Good Excel skills and confidence using accounting systems, with an interest in learning new technology.

Responsibilities

• Managing the purchase and sales ledger function
• Processing supplier invoices, matching, batching and coding
• Raising sales invoices and monitoring outstanding debtors
• Completing daily bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate cash records
• Preparing weekly payment runs
• Reconciling supplier, customer and inter-company accounts
• Managing petty cash and company credit card reconciliations
• Processing employee expenses
• Maintaining accurate financial records and filing systems
