Job Title – Accounts Assistant

Department/Sector – Logistics

Job Location – Suffolk

Salary – £21k – £25k pro rata (Maternity Leave)

Our client is recruiting an accounts assistant to cover maternity leave for nine to twelve months.

In the role you will process purchase invoices and maintain accurate ledgers for the company, you will prepare monthly journal postings & monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

Another part of the role is to prepare BPC packages, including dormant companies. Prepare year-end files for external auditor.

You must have experience of VAT returns for both UK & Ireland.

They need you to ensure details held by bank are consistent with board resolutions.

Attention to detail is essential due to accurate updating of fixed asset registers, including regular reviews to ensure correctness of data.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and posting of purchase invoices in line with group procedures
  • Analysis of monthly performance versus budgets
  • Maintain accounting records for UK companies
  • Assist with Half year and Year end reporting.
  • Maintain bank account standing data & review of bank reconciliation process.
  • Maintain fixed asset registers.
  • Assist with completion of annual tax computations for all UK companies, along with Ireland.
  • Assist in completion of tax packs for external tax advisor.
  • Continually review processes to identify efficiencies.
