Job summary

A community-focused organization in Hounslow is looking for an Accounts Assistant for a 6-month contract. You will manage credit control, assist with month-end tasks, and handle bank reconciliations in a hybrid role. Candidates with 1-2 years of transactional finance experience and strong Excel skills are encouraged to apply. Basic knowledge of accounting qualifications is advantageous but not required.

  • Support with credit control and debtors report preparation.
  • Raise POs, sales invoices, and make payments.
  • Assist with month-end tasks and accounts packing.
  • Prepare journals for approval including accruals, prepayments.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.

Job description

Are you available for a 6-month contract role in this impactful organisation, who are providing critical services to the local community across housing, recycling, leisure and more

Joining their Finance team as Accounts Assistant you will be supporting with a broad variety of tasks in the Finance team including:

  • Credit control - contacting customers and producing the debtors report
  • Raising PO's and sales invoices, making same-day and one-off payments
  • Helping with the month end tasks and monthly management accounts pack
  • Preparing journals for approval including accruals, prepayments, payroll, etc.
  • Bank reconciliations daily, weekly and monthly and posting receipts

This is the perfect role for someone who has a year or two working in transactional finance/accounting and ready for their next step.

Location: Hounslow on the West London / Middlesex border. This is a hybrid role 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.

Salary: circa £30,000 depending on your experience. You should have good Excel skills and be tech-savvy, able to pick up new systems easily.

It would be advantageous if you're studying an Accounting qualification like AAT, ACCA, etc. but it's not a dealbreaker. Interested? Apply today!
