Job description

A business based in Filey is currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis. On offer is a salary of circa £28,000 plus an attractive benefits package, including contributory pension and ongoing professional development.

As an Accounts Assistant you will be:

  • Processing sales and purchase invoices promptly and accurately
  • Reconciling credit card statements and supplier statements
  • Managing credit control and following up outstanding customer balances
  • Running payment schedules for contractors and suppliers
  • Communicating with clients and suppliers to resolve invoicing or payment queries
  • Posting month-end journals (accruals, prepayments, depreciation) and assisting with VAT returns
  • Preparing and contributing to monthly financial reports and schedules

To be successful in this Accounts Assistant role, you will ideally have/be:

  • Proficient in Excel, with experience of accounting software (Sage advantageous)
  • Part-qualified (AAT) or studying towards an accounting qualification
  • Strong organisational skills with an ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
  • Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with internal and external stakeholders
