Job summary

Lloyd Motor Group in York is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join the Lloyd Jaguar Land Rover site. You will support daily transactional accounting, assist with reporting, and ensure smooth operations of the accounts department under guidance of senior staff.

The ideal candidate will have basic accounts experience; familiarity with ledgers and invoicing is helpful. AAT desirable but not essential; full training provided in a busy automotive environment.

Qualifications

• Sales & Purchase Ledger experience or exposure.
• Credit Control knowledge.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• IT literate and proficient with standard office software.
• General office / administration experience, with good time management and attention to detail.
• AAT qualification would be desirable but not essential.
• Experience in the motor industry and Kerridge knowledge desirable but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Checking and re-allocating nominal postings.
• Coding of Purchase Invoices.
• Credit Control.
• Ledger Maintenance - ensuring Sales and Purchase Ledgers are tidy.
• Initiating Monthly Run and paying Inter Company Accounts.
• Checking and allocating Manufacturer commission.
• Stock counts.
• Daily Banking.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join our Lloyd Jaguar Land Rover site based in York.

As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the accounts department. Working closely with the dealership's Assistant Accountant and Retailer Accountant, you'll be responsible for day-to-day transactional accounting tasks, supporting accurate financial reporting, and contributing to the success of the business.

Salary: Competitive

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Role Responsibilities

• Checking and re-allocating nominal postings
• Coding of Purchase Invoices
• Credit Control
• Ledger Maintenance - ensuring Sales and Purchase Ledgers are tidy
• Initiating Monthly Run and paying Inter Company Accounts
• Checking and allocating Manufacturer commission
• Stock counts
• Daily Banking

The ideal candidate will have general accounts experience which may include one of the following:

• Sales & Purchase Ledger
• Credit Control
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• IT Literate.
• General office / administration experienceEffective time management and attention to detail
• AAT qualification would be desirable but not essential
• Experience of working in the motor industry and knowledge of Kerridge would be desirable, but not essential, as full training will be given.
