Overview:
A well-established and growing organisation based in Worcester is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support the finance team in delivering accurate and timely financial information. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their accounting career within a supportive and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Processing supplier invoices, staff expenses, and payment runs
  2. Assisting with bank and account reconciliations
  3. Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts
  4. Maintaining accurate financial records and ledgers
  5. Liaising with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve queries
  6. Assisting with VAT returns and other regulatory reporting
  7. Providing general administrative support to the finance department

Person Specification:

  1. Previous experience in a similar accounts or finance role
  2. AAT qualified or currently studying (preferred but not essential)
  3. Strong numerical and analytical skills
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, or similar)
  5. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  6. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  7. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
