Forrest Recruitment Wigan are excited to announce we are working with a leading independent Accountancy Practice who pride themselves on their service and reputation. Based in the heart of Wigan, they are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to support their Accounts Managers as well as collaborating with clients, Senior Managers and Directors.

Duties will include:

  • Dealing with a varied client base, ranging from SME’s to large international groups
  • Preparation of statutory accounts, management accounts, year-end financial statements, personal tax returns and corporation tax
  • Completing bank reconciliations, tax computations, VAT returns, P11Ds, processing invoices and expenses, and other ad hoc tasks
  • Identifying any accounting matters, dealing with them where appropriate and referring complex matters on to your manager when necessary
  • Liaising directly with clients ensuring a timely delivery of services and manage the relationship in a professional manner
  • Resolving client queries and planning workloads effectively
  • Ensuring client files are organised and up to date with new information and key changes
  • Producing and sending out external letters to clients, HMRC and statutory bodies
  • Collaborating with the Account Managers and team members on client accounts
  • Supporting junior team members
  • Using of Excel spreadsheets to present and analyse key information

Hours of work:

  • Monday to Friday

The ideal candidate will have ambition and commercial awareness – to be successful you will be AAT qualified and/or AAT qualified with 5 years practice experience. Xero and Sage knowledge would be an advantage. Must be self-motivated, have strong attention to detail and be able to work to deadlines.
