A leading Insurance Client is looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join its central Finance team, based at its head office in Birmingham. Working on a hybrid basis, this role offers exposure to various areas of finance, including credit control, reconciliations, claims payments, and compliance. Key Responsibilities:

• Support accurate and timely financial operations, including bank reconciliations and cashbook updates
• Manage credit control processes, ensuring overdue debts are chased professionally
• Handle client queries with efficiency and professionalism, seeing them through to resolution
• Assist with client account management, producing reports and monthly statements as required
• Process scheduled and ad-hoc payment runs with accuracy and timeliness
• Maintain complete and accurate sales ledger records
• Contribute to project work including systems/process improvements and software implementation
• Collaborate with internal teams to support compliance and client service standards

Requirements:

• Previous experience working in a commercial Finance Department
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong IT proficiency and confident working with finance systems
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Positive team player with the ability to work independently when required
